Colombo – Speaking at a public protest in Jaffna, Mr. Arun Sitharth Maithreyan stated “We never had freedom , liberty or democracy under LTTE supremacy. We Jaffna Tamils know all the negative sides about LTTE and other Tamil militant groups , but we are still afraid to speak in public about that. Geneva and human rights are used as a political tool by Tamil politicians.”
“Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves “
Speaking in Sinhalese, Mr. Maithreyan mentioned that politicians that speak on Human Rights first should speak of the atrocities committed by the LTTE and not white wash them.
Speaking in Tamil, he highlighted the need to look at the real needs of the Tamil people in the north and east.
