2910 Refugee Cases + LTTE Tamil Tigers: 2021 Challenges!

  1. The state of Pro-LTTE Tamil diaspora
Sri Lanka had been peaceful since the defeat of the LTTE in 2009, except for the Easter bombings. It is slowly but surely marching towards peaceful coexistence and social harmony it was known around the world for generations. The development is coming to the underdeveloped regions which were previously hot bed for terror, and the people in these regions are appreciating the security forces for the service they render. They have hope and looking forward to a good life for the next generation. The hate politics of the communal parties are crumbling. They do not hold the vice like grip on the suffering Tamils anymore. It is painfully obvious that there is absolutely no opportunity for an armed insurrection for decades to come.

This is the death of the Pro-LTTE diaspora who thrived on the misery of their relatives due to the brutal war waged by the LTTE. There are no headlines crying out their suffering. No new accusations of any wrong doings by the security forces. No ship loads of refugees reaching the shores of Canada and other western nations. In effect, no way to prove their purported suffering at the hands of the Sri Lankan government and the majority Sinhalese.

Now the judges see no justification to grant asylum. The Tamil refugee industry is crumbling. The next generation of the Tamil refugees are now well off and integrated to the mainstream Canadian society; they do not want to carry the hatred forward. They do not want to return to Sri Lanka and have little interest on the communal politics of their parents.

On the other hand, the beneficiaries of the Tamil refugee industry and the politicians bankrolled by them are seeing the writing on the wall. They must find something to rally those gullible masses fast or perish.

  1. Tamil Refugee business

The following statistics shows that the Tamil refugee business is still doing well. Who wants to lose such a lucrative business? Even during the previous government (2015 – 2019) where anything asked by the Tamil politicians are granted, the refugee claims continue unabated and in-fact increased. One would expect the refugee claims to stop when the ground conditions are what they ask for, but it did not happen. Why? Because the refugee claims have no relation to the ground conditions.

Also notice how the refugee referrals are increased several times over in the year the bogus genocide claim is staged.

This is the backdrop of inventing the genocidal myth to carry the hatred and to give something to rally around.

  1. Today’s threat matrix
    1. Ontario – The mythical “Tamil genocide commemoration” project is faltering. Now the politicians are aware of the facts, it’s difficult to mislead them. However, the architects of the project make every effort to push it forward and get it through when no one is looking.
    2. Canada – The submission for the new High Commissioner of Sri Lanka had been rejected in September/ October 2020, and new credentials can be submitted in March/ April 2021. We urge the Sri Lankan government is to submit a career diplomat who can connect with all Sri Lankan communities in Canada and who can continue to foster bilateral relations between the two nations.
    3. International challenges to SL – The UNHRC sessions are held in March. After Sri Lanka pulled out from the co-sponsored resolution No:30/1 of 2015 due to it’s many flaws; a new move is afoot to bring another resolution by the same cabal who pushed the 30/1. It’s reasonably obvious that it would be tailored to the Pro-LTTE agenda, we need to remain vigilant and counter any factual inaccuracies at the appropriate forums. An international effort is needed to thwart this move.
    4. New threats – The ongoing tensions between the Muslims and the government about the burial rights for the Corona victims is snowballing. If not properly resolved quickly, this could be another thorn on Sri Lanka’s side in the international forums. Though the effect is not felt here in Canada yet, the risk of spilling it over cannot be ignored.

  2. What can we do
    1. In Canada – we continue to fight both the Genocide myth and other moves by the Pro-LTTE diaspora. Although they are on the back foot now, it’s almost sure that they would rebound; there is too much to lose for their luxury lifestyles.
    2. Internationally – we are joining hands with the Sri Lankan patriots worldwide and at the Sri Lankan government, to effectively counter those anti Sri Lankan moves.
    3. Bringing the fight to the LTTE war criminals – Plans are afoot to bring LTTE operatives and key figures hiding in the West, to justice. They would not be allowed to hide in luxury and saw terror in Sri Lanka.

  3. Conclusion

The mythical genocide project is stalled for now. You never know what devious moves to come from the desperate Pro-LTTE camp. We must remain vigilant and respond swiftly.

On the international front, we go as a common front to counter anti Sri Lankan moves. There are many variables that are unfavorable to us, but we will fight them with intellect and vigor.
